Pssssst…. Want to hear some news?

Hey everyone

It’s snowing again  – at least we’re always guaranteed a white Christmas here at www.carmelharrington.com ❄️🎄

How’s December shaping up for you all? I’m not terribly organised yet, but I will be. I’ve been making my lists and checking them twice and basically, all will be good next week, when I get to start ticking things off said list!

This week has thrown me a little curve ball already. Right now, I should be in the airport waiting for my flight to London. A few months ago I received a beautiful invitation to attend the annual Harper Collins Christmas drinks party. Only thrilled I was! Together with my pal and fellow Harper Collins author, Hazel Gaynor, we booked our flights and hotel. Roomies we would be, off gallivanting in London in our posh frocks, drinking champagne.

Here’s a pic of Hazel and I at my book launch on 21st November. She’s a lovely lady, make sure and check out her books if you’ve not done so yet here

Harrington Book Launch _8_

On Saturday evening in The Riverbank House Hotel at the launch of Carmel Harrigton’s book “Every Time A Bell Rings” were Hazel Gaynor who launched the book and Carmel Harrington

Yesterday, the dreaded chicken pox caught up with the H’s. At least the littlest of us. Poor Nate woke up covered in the little blighters and you know yourself, only mummy will do. So it’s snuggle central here, with my little man. He’s asleep right now, and Amelia is at school so I’m sneaking in some work before it’s time to get dabbing once more! Amelia has yet to have them either, so I’m reckoning she might be next up. With a bit of luck all will be back to normal before Christmas Eve.

One of the reasons I’m disappointed to miss this party is that I was finally going to see my amazing editors to celebrate lots of good news. Not least of which, the publication of Every Time A Bell Rings!

So, will you celebrate with me here instead? No champagne, but sure, we’ll raise a cup of tea together! lol..🍜

Right, want to hear my news? Yes, oh ok …

Belle and Jim have been sprinkling magic all over the world, because Every Time A Bell Rings hast been sold into six different languages! Six! I’ve always liked that number. 😍

If you live in  France, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Finland or Norway, at some point over the next two years, my little story will be coming your way!

I keep telling Mr H that we’ll have to go on a whistle stop tour of each of these countries, just to check out the bookshelves and new covers, but I’m not sure he’s convinced yet!

The Life You Left has also been sold to Finland, Norway and Sweden and Beyond Grace’s Rainbow to Brazil and Turkey. I’m really excited to see how different the book looks in each language and what covers they choose.

My other news is that Every Time A Bell Rings first week on sale in Tesco’s throughout the UK, it sold … drum roll please … 1000 copies!

That has just surpassed all my expectations. I am very grateful to each and every one of you who have helped contribute to that number. I’ve not had any results yet for Ireland paperback sales, but I’m hopeful that it’s doing well over here too. Have you seen it yet on a book shelf in your local bookstore? I haven’t! Out two weeks on Thursday and I’ve yet to go do a shelfie. I just need more hours in a day.

Lots of book reviewers have been sharing their thoughts too and if you want to check any of them out, you can see them here.

Oh and this is fun news! Some of you may have noticed on twitter or Facebook me sharing a radio interview I did with Michigan’s Big Show. (Here’s the podcast, if you want to listen.) Well, yesterday the show were in touch with Tracy, my agent, and they have asked me to co-host their special Saint Patrick’s Day show in 2016 with legendary presenter Michael Patrick Shiels. I can’t wait. What a fun thing to do!

And lastly I’m currently on tour. I feel a bit like a rock star saying that. But this kind of tour is one that I can do from my couch! Every Time A Bell Rings is on a blog tour and below is the schedule if anyone wants to check it out! I’ve been sharing the posts on twitter and Facebook too.
