Hi everyone, how are you all?  I’m busy but I’m not complaining cos’ it’s all crazy good busy!  Lot’s of exciting things happening this week with the paperback release of Beyond Grace’s Rainbow and of course the celebrating of my recent book award win!

But before I head out the door, I want to introduce you to todays guest blogger – HarperImpulse Author Rae Rivers.

So thank you for joining me Rae, tell us about yourself.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, with my hubby and two children – who are very understanding and patient with me whilst I play with my imaginary friends!  (And even though they find it amusing that I have voices in my head, they still love me and let me be!)  I love writing, reading, travelling and chocolate.  Lots of chocolate.

I think we have voices in our heads Rae, some of us just hide it better than others 😉

I love South Africa, I was lucky enough to visit and travel around the country a few years back.  It’s very beautiful.  So what genre do you write and when did you start?

I’m a romance author and recently ventured into Paranormal Romance with the start of my Keepers series.  Initially, it took a while to find my comfort levels within this genre but now I’m hooked!

I think it’s fair to say that your readers are hooked too! Me included.  I loved Archers story.  By now the readers here know that I’m always on the look out for an exclusive.  Can you share something with us about one of your books that you’ve not shared with anyone else before?

When I first wrote The Keepers: Archer, Sienna was to fall pregnant with Archer’s baby but the more I wrote, the more it just didn’t feel right for this couple – or their story.  So I deleted the baby!

Can you imagine how goodlooking that baby would be!!!  Thanks for the scoop Rae. What are you working on right now?

I’m currently writing the third book in my series, The Keepers: Declan.  Lots of fun!

Would you share a sample of your writing Rae? Pretty please!

Excerpt from The Keepers: Archer

  “I’ll come with you, Sienna.”

She nodded, never having doubted otherwise, and stopped at the doorway to frown at the shattered lamp on the floor.  When had that happened?

Her breath caught as memories of Archer’s kiss clouded her mind, but she was quick to push them away.  She looked back at Archer and blushed when she saw his lip curl into a slight grin.  He would be able to sense her quick flush of excitement sparked by the memory of their kiss and judging by his grin, he found brief amusement in her reaction to the memory.  “Stop it,” she said, jabbing a finger in Archer’s direction.

  “Stop what?”

  “I want my damn necklace.”

“But this is way more fun.”

“For you maybe.  I’m going to bed.”

  “You haven’t eaten yet.”

  “I’m not hungry.”

“Lucky you.”  A sexy gleam entered his eyes and a silly grin played on his lips.  “Because unlike you, I am hungry, Sienna, but it’s not food I’m after.”

Sienna gaped at him for a second, spun around, and fled to her room.

Thanks Rae, thats wonderful.  Can you g
ive me 3 words to describe your best self and 3 words to describe your worst self?

Best self – loyal, honest, loving

Worst self – impatient, low tolerance for noise, craves too much chocolate!

I’ve not met an author who doesn’t crave chocolate yet!  Ok, another fun question, girls or boys night out, room for 10 in the limo, who are you bringing with you? (Dead, alive, fictional, celebrities, friends, the choice is yours!)

I’d opt for my hubby and our small circle of dearest friends.  What fun!

That’s very lovely of you!  Describe a perfect day and night for me, where are you and who are you with?

At a seaside hotel with my hubby and kiddies, a day spent on the beach and beside the pool.  Lots of love and laughter, freedom and relaxation.  Bliss.

Sounds idyllic Rae.  What are you reading right now? And is it a paper book or ebook?

Nothing at the moment (due to writing deadlines!) but my Kindle is loaded with several Harper Impulse books for my upcoming holiday in a few days.

Hope you are having a lovely holiday Rae, I know how hard you work.  So If you could pick any career in the world other than what you do now, what would it be?

All I’ve ever wanted to be is a writer – and I’m finally living that dream.  J
