Interviews, Reviews, Fashion Shows, Play rehearsals Oh My!

Hello all

Well I’ve had a very busy week, I was at the Green Awards on Thursday night, then had such an amazing time at the Junk Kouture Fashion Awards in the Bord Gais Theatre. The atmosphere there was electric! The winning design was made entirely of clothes pegs!

My favourite of the night was a design called Unlocked, a dress made entirely of keys and it weighed over 2 and 1/2 stone!

Check out RTE tonight as they are doing a special on the Junk Kouture story on Nationwide. I promise you will be so impressed with the talent there is with Ireland’s fashion designers of the future.

Beyond Graces Rainbow was reviewed by 3 different Book Reviewers and all 3 gave Grace and the gang thumbs up! I am completely blown away at how the book is being received, it’s really fantastic when reviewers of this calibre, reviewers who spend their days reading books in the Women’s Fiction genre, who also get asked to review books for publishing houses, not only like my book, they highly recommend it!

If you missed the reviews and would like to see what The Book Geek, Shaz’s Book Boudoir or Lovn Books had to say, then here are the links to the reviews for you.

The Book Awards also have just published a lovely feature on me following my recent win for Beyond Graces Rainbow. I really enjoyed chatting to Pete and so here is the link to that feature if you fancy a nose!

Yesterday was another first for me, as rehearsals have begun for the cast of my play A Dunganstown Romance. I had the privilege of meeting the actors and the lovely director Alison Martin, plus the other talented playwrights Imelda Carroll, Colum Kavanagh and Dominic Palmer. It was a surreal moment for me, chatting about a play I had written to the cast and hearing their thoughts on it. I was relieved that they all said the play was funny and they had gotten the humour I had written. I just hope the audience gets it too, no tumbleweed moments please!

Tickets went on sale at the weekend and they are already almost sold out. So it promises to be a great night.

My blog hit a big milestone also at the weekend and exceeded the 5000 hit mark! So thank you to my followers for stopping by so often.
I have a lovely piece for my series Ordinary People with Extraordinary Lives coming up on Wednesday. It is World Meningitis Day and I have been asked to write a piece highlighting this horrible illness by the team at Meningitis Ireland on Wednesday. So I thought I would incorporate another extraordinary story as they are always popular. I promise I have another fabulous person to introduce to you all!

So now, I better get back to my real job, that of Mummy. Princess Sofia has given me 30 minutes of peace to get this blog entry written, but the natives are getting restless now.

Talk to you all on Wednesday. X
