A Thousand Roads Home Out Now!

Hello lovely readers,

Well, it’s been a busy week! Because my seventh novel, A Thousand Roads Home, is now on sale!

On Thursday 18 October my new book hit the bookshelves across Ireland and virtual bookshelves with eBook retailers worldwide. And together with my publisher Harper Collins, I went on a little book tour.

We started off in Drogheda, then Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and finally ending up in Gorey for the official launch in The Gaslamp Gallery. Claire and Annemarie in Gaslamp went above and beyond for this launch. They re-created Tom’s bench (when you read the book you will see why the bench is important!) and made book art out of my recent book covers! They also presented me with a delicious and spectacular book cake, made by Annemarie! Catherine Ryan Howard, USA Today bestseller and one of my besties, did the official honours and launched for me. She had props for her speech, yes props!, that included a gin and tonic for me! She also presented me with a framed quote from A Thousand Roads Home, complete with a mini-book. It was a very special moment. Hazel Gaynor, bestie no.2, was in Monaco for the launch, but sent the most gorgeous message via Catherine and also gave me the most fabulous gift – a Newbridge silver home keyring, with A Thousand Roads Home tagline ‘We all belong somewhere.’

A special night! Here are some pics …

Next weekend it’s Wexford Literary Festival and as Chair, I’ll be popping up at all events, but I’m also speaking as an author at the Readers and Writers Day, plus in conversation with Liz Nugent at our annual TeaCup Gin night in Enniscorthy Castle. Full details on events are available on their website: www.wexfordliteraryfestival.com

I’ll also be visiting Mallow Library as part of their WomenWrite events on 7November.

I’ll keep you posted of any other signings as they occur! I suspect more on their way! Have a lovely weekend,

Carmel x
